Master Gardeners bloom where they are planted!

Master Gardener Volunteers welcome anyone interested in assisting with the many projects in the Woodland Gardens. You can help preserve and promote this educational and environmental resource unique to Ellsworth by:

Master Gardener Bill Booth

  • Maintaining the boardwalk and surrounding areas - general clean up or occasional carpentry work
  • Weeding, raking and planting
  • Becoming a tour guide
  • Preparing and stocking brochures and self-guided educational materials
  •  Making signage
  •  Removing invasive species
  • Assisting in the care of the cottage garden
  •  Preparing exhibits
  • Assisting with planning for Cordelia Stanwood Day
  • Working on the website

Whether you like to work in groups with others or by yourself, there is something you can do.  There will be regularly schedule working groups as well as activities for individuals and those who work during the day.  A member of the Woodland Garden team will get you started.  Time commitment is up to each individual volunteer.

Join us as we start the 2006 spring, summer, fall season. To help with the Woodland Gardens project at Birdsacre contact:
