Take a journey back to Victorian times and visit Birdsacre on Cordelia Stanwood Day. Born on August 1, 1865, Cordelia Stanwood was an avid Ornithologist and Wildlife photographer.  Quite possibly, She may have been the first female in this profession.

Each year, on a weekend close Cordelia’s birthday, Cordelia Stanwood Day is celebrated at the Birdsacre Sanctuary. A visitor can enjoy a Master Gardener Volunteer led tour of the Woodland Gardens or take a tour of the cottage with a docent who will to take you back in time. Refreshments are served up for your pleasure and of course, the Visitor’s Center and gift shop are abuzz with activity. This wonderful summer day culminates with the drawing of the prizes from the fundraiser raffle. Watch for the publicity in the local papers or visit this website as the time approaches. Come and join the fun!
